Bubba?  Is that you?

So I take on Bubba.  Well, actually I explain the myth about big bad Bubba of the federal prison system.

I introduce humor into my keynote presentations.  This provides comic relief for a presentation that, at times, deals with serious issues and some serious adversity.

Everyone has the opportunity every day to commit fraud, to omit facts, or turn the other way. There are professionals today who may be unaware of, or do not care what they are doing. They may have been trained that way.  Some think, "everybody does it."

In 1989 I graduated from a paralegal program offered through the UCLA law school in Southern California, and worked as a litigation paralegal in Westwood, California.

My first job in the mortgage business was with a large national mortgage banking conglomerate in Pasadena, California.  In 1993, I relocated with my new family to my home state of Minnesota and took a job as a retail loan officer with another large mortgage banking company.  In 1995 I obtained my real estate license.  In 1996 I founded Mayne Mortgage and Neighborhood Redevelopment Corp.  By 1998 I had 10 employees and was growing.

In December of 1998 I was indicted by Federal Prosecutors and charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering - crimes that took place four years earlier.  In 1999 I received a 21 month prison sentence.  On November 4th, 1999, I reported to the Federal Prison in Yankton, South Dakota.
